A majority of Users of Windows 8 have been facing a problem of "Black Screen" .Right after logging in Windows, there is nothing visible except the black screen.
Some users said it is caused by the ask4pc activator (Windows 8 Activator (all versions) used to make windows 8 genuine | Ask4pc) . Contrary to that,
people only people who have installed Avast are facing this problem due to incompatibility issues with Windows 8 .
Right after installing Avast on your PC using Windows 8 operating system, a blackout screen problem might be recurring. It happens that after entering your login details, the screen automatically turns black .
For an average PC user, the built in protection ( i.e. Windows Defender) is quite efficient. Just remember to turn on automatic updates or manually update the anti-virus to keep up with new definitions released.
But if you still want to use Avast, you can follow the following steps to solve the blackout screen problem.

- Turn on your computer and log in
- Once you are logged in, you would get a black screen with a moveable cursor
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and open Task manager
- Go to start-up tab and right click on Avast antivirus and click on open file location
- Now double click on AvastUI, It will open the Avast Interface
- Go to security –> Behavior Shield —> Settings
- Click on Trusted Processes on the left and add the below mentioned path to the list
C:\Windows\explorer.exe and C:\Windows\ImmersiveControlPanel\SystemSettings.exe
- Following this procedure will definitely help you solve the black screen problem.
- In case its not resolved. Go to Avast –>security –> Behavior Shield —> Settings
and under main settings untick “Monitor the system for unauthorized modifications” and click OK.
